Seeing is believing

Yes! That is me!!!  I am flying...well parasailing, but it’s close.  Who would have thought it possible, that for my 29th wedding anniversary, I would be parasailing at a resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Certainly not me.  But these are the sort of things you do when you begin to dream BIG, seemingly impossible dreams, and set big, audacious goals to realize your dreams.

Whatever your impossible dream - whether to run a marathon, walk up the isles with your soulmate, or crawl out of your bed at whatever time of the day you wish because you are earning massive passive income.  Whatever it is that you want, you need to first see it mentally before it can become a reality.

We are told in the bible about the building of the Tower of Babel.  After Noah and his family survived the great flood, their descendants decided to settle in one place and build a city with a brick tower so high it would reach the heavens.  At that time they all spoke one common language.  God did not want them to stay in one place but to scatter and populate the earth, so he caused them to speak different languages so they could not understand each other (hence the name ‘babel’) and so they had no choice but to abandon their plan and scatter.

You know what is interesting here?  The fact that God knew they would be able to accomplish whatever they visualized and set their minds to do, so He had to step in to stymie their plans.  He actually said “now nothing which they have imagined will be impossible to them” (Genesis 11:6 KJV).  Think about that!!!

Let us not miss another important lesson from this event.  It is important to align our plans with God’s plans for our lives. Sometimes we plan and we work hard and we even pray for something to materialize, but it does not… and sometimes not when we want it to.  You can be sure God has other plans for you.  In Proverbs 16:9 (NLT) we read: “We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.”

So how do we align our plans with God’s? Again, the answer is found in the book of Proverbs, Chapter 3 verses 5 to 6: “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”  In Psalm 37:4 we also read: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”  This verse means God places the very desires in our hearts and then he grants us what we desire…… if we delight ourselves in Him.

Do not be afraid or shy to dream BIG.  God dreamed BIG and created the universe and all in it including mankind whom he created in His image and likeness.  He said “Let there be light… and it was so.  Let there be the heavens, and it was so… let there be the earth….etc….. and it was.  In Romans 4:17 we read: “Abraham believed in the God who ……..creates new things out of nothing.”  Because God created us in his image and likeness, we have the ability to do the same - create new things out of nothing.  It begins in our minds, in our imaginations.

If you can see it, you can achieve it!  What do you need to begin to see and believe for?  Come on, pull out the stops.
